Blur Face in Photo: Blur Part of an Image
Paint over anything you want to hide and it is blurred straight away. Use it for bystanders in a street photo, children in a school picture, a number plate in a car listing or an address on a screenshot.
Drag and drop your image
or click to choose a file. JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF and BMP are supported.
Your image stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
How to blur a face in a photo
- 1Upload the photo.
- 2Set the brush size and blur strength, then paint over the area to hide.
- 3Download the image. The blur is part of the picture and cannot be switched off by a viewer.
Use enough blur
A light blur can leave a face or text recognisable. Raise the strength, or paint over the area a second time, until nothing readable is left.
Not only faces
The brush works on any region: documents, screens, tattoos, house numbers or name badges.
Private photos stay private
The picture is edited by your browser and is not uploaded, which matters when the reason for blurring is privacy in the first place.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I blur a face in a photo?
- Upload the photo, choose a brush a little larger than the face and paint over it. Undo with Ctrl+Z if you blur too much.
- Does it detect faces automatically?
- No. You choose what to blur with the brush, which also lets you hide things that are not faces.
- Can someone remove the blur later?
- No. The original pixels in the blurred area are replaced in the downloaded file.
